U-Bahn

A while back I posted the below photo of Marienplatz, part of the Munich U-Bahn network. I promised that I would do a project on that one day. Well many moons have past, but finally I was able to go back and work a little more on the project. So what was the occasion? Well there was one, I managed to get the final…

Munich U-Bahn

Every photographer is well aware of the photogenic underground stations in different parts of the world. There are amazing stations in Stockholm, Vienna, Prague and many other place. In Australia we didn’t really have a tube, and I have never really been into architectural photography. However, I recently discovered the Munich U-bahn! The photo above is of Marienplatz, in the heart of  Munich. The…

Ettaler Weidmoss

There are a number of wetlands in the region we live, including Pulvermoos, Murnauer Moos, and Ettaler Weidmoss. There is lots to see, particularly if you like the flora and fauna found in this kind of environment. I went to Ettaler Weidmoss to check it out,as I spotted it coming back from the famous Schloss Linderhof. I went there a couple of hours before…

Eibsee, Bavaria

Its finally getting warm and nice here in Bavaria. The grass is green again and the flowers are blooming. Most people who visit here come in Summer, and most people visit the castles, beer gardens, and perhaps see Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain. One little place thats very near to Zugspitze is Eibsee, a lake at the foot of the mountain, and about 10mins from…

German Tank Museum

I have always been a WW2 history buff, and especially I’ve always loved tanks. When I got a chance to visit the Deutsches Panzermuseum in Munster on my way up to Denmark, I had to drop by.  It is one of the few places where you can see some of the rarest ww2 tanks. Some of which there are only a couple left in…

Signs of Spring!

So after a long and some-what disappointing winter I’m ready for Spring. Luckily, there are a few early signs of spring starting to show already! I am looking forward to the wild flowers blooming, and all the wonderful colour in the mountains. I hope to post much more this Spring, but I went for a morning walk the other day with my 180mm macro,…

Fasching! (Carnival Season)

Fasching is Germany’s carnival season. In Bavaria where I live, it’s taken very seriously! It starts November 11th, and lasts a couple of months until Shroud Tuesday. It is basically a Roman Catholic and Christian Orthodox celebration. It’s a time where people let their hair down, dress up and drink lots of beer. Although not an official holiday, everything grinds to a halt around…

A visit to BMW

My wife and I recently visited the Munich BMW Museum for my birthday.. yes, I know, a brave wife but we did go shopping in Munich afterwards! I took the opportunity to take some photos along the way. If you are interested in cars at all, you shouldn’t miss a visit to BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. It is also possible to take…
